Taiwan's Most
Competitive
Cadet Pilots
Train Here First
The Shortage Is Real.
Selection Is Still
Brutally Competitive.
Asia's airlines need thousands of pilots over the next decade. Taiwan's carriers are hiring. But the gap between wanting to fly and passing selection is where most candidates fail.
Aptitude tests you have never seen before
Airlines use psychometric and multi-crew coordination assessments that no university course prepares you for. Without deliberate practice, most candidates fail at this stage.
ICAO English is a gate, not a formality
ICAO Level 4 is required before you touch a simulator. Aviation English is a distinct skill — phraseology, read-backs, non-standard situations — not everyday conversation.
Each carrier selects differently
China Airlines, EVA Air, StarLux, and Tigerair Taiwan each run distinct selection pipelines with different weightings, formats, and values. Generic preparation misses the specifics.
Overseas programs cost NT$2.5M+
Flight academies abroad charge US$85,000 or more and are built for their own markets, not Taiwan's. The financial and geographic barrier eliminates serious candidates before they begin.
Three Disciplines.
One Selection.
V1 Cadet is built around the three filters every Taiwan airline uses to thin their candidate pools. We prepare you to clear all three.
Aptitude Preparation
Airline aptitude testing covers spatial reasoning, multi-tasking under load, instrument interpretation, and crew coordination judgment. These are learnable skills — but only with structured, deliberate practice under conditions that mirror real assessments.
- Spatial reasoning and instrument interpretation drills
- Multi-task attention and cognitive load management
- Crew resource management and decision-making scenarios
- Timed practice sessions under assessment conditions
Aviation English is a technical skill distinct from general fluency. ICAO Level 4 proficiency is the mandatory standard, and the test evaluates pronunciation, structure, vocabulary, fluency, comprehension, and interaction — all within aviation contexts.
- Standard phraseology, read-backs, and clearance formats
- Non-standard situation communication under pressure
- ICAO ELP test structure, scoring criteria, and preparation
- Mock oral assessments with coaching feedback

Airline Selection Strategy
China Airlines, EVA Air, StarLux, and Tigerair Taiwan each run different selection pipelines. We map the specific formats, values, and assessment criteria each carrier uses — so you are not preparing generically; you are preparing precisely.
The pilot shortage is real.
The candidates who prepare
systematically
win.
V1 is the decision speed — the moment before takeoff when you commit. We prepare you to reach that moment with full confidence in your readiness.
Begin your preparationHow V1 Cadet Works
From your first enquiry to the day you enter a carrier selection pipeline, every step has a defined outcome. No guesswork. No generic advice. A structured pathway designed around Taiwan's airline selection reality.
Assessment and Gap Analysis
Your preparation starts with an honest baseline. We assess where you stand on aptitude, English proficiency, and your knowledge of each carrier's selection process. This tells us exactly where to focus your preparation time.
Structured Preparation Program
Based on your gap analysis, you work through targeted modules across aptitude testing, ICAO English, and carrier-specific selection strategy. Sessions are structured with clear milestones, not open-ended coaching.
Selection Readiness Review
Before you apply to a carrier, we run a comprehensive readiness review — simulated aptitude testing, mock ICAO oral, and a full debrief of your carrier interview preparation. You know exactly where you stand before the real assessment.
Enter Selection
You apply to your chosen carriers with a preparation record, not hope. Every phase of your preparation is logged so you can present the work you have done with confidence. This is V1 — the decision speed. Commit.
Built for Taiwan's Airlines
Our preparation is built around the specific selection formats and values of Taiwan's major carriers. Generic aviation prep doesn't account for the individual culture, assessment style, and values of each airline. We do.
Taiwan's flag carrier. Selection emphasizes precision, formal professionalism, and strong aptitude scores. Cadet pathway is structured with defined assessment gates.
Five-star carrier with high operational standards. Strong emphasis on English proficiency, situational judgment, and systematic thinking in assessment.
Premium carrier built on precision and modern service culture. Selection reflects its brand: exact standards, strong communication skills, and high attention to detail.
Taiwan's major LCC operates with lean crew dynamics. Selection favors adaptability, strong CRM instincts, and the ability to operate efficiently in high-tempo environments.
Questions Worth Asking
Do I need any prior aviation experience to enroll?
No aviation experience is required. V1 Cadet is designed for candidates who are at the beginning of their preparation journey — university students, graduates, and career changers who want to enter a Taiwan airline cadet program. Our assessment will establish your baseline across aptitude and English, and we build from there.
Which airlines does V1 Cadet prepare me for?
Our preparation is built around Taiwan's four major carriers: China Airlines, EVA Air, StarLux Airlines, and Tigerair Taiwan. Each has a distinct selection format, culture, and assessment emphasis. We map your preparation to your target carrier, not a generic airline profile.
How is V1 Cadet different from an overseas flight academy?
Overseas academies charging NT$2.5M+ are built around flight hours and the licensing requirements of their own markets. V1 Cadet is not a flight school — we are a selection preparation service. We focus on the stages that determine whether a Taiwan carrier invites you into their training pipeline in the first place: aptitude assessments, English proficiency, and the carrier-specific selection process. These are the stages most candidates fail, and they are entirely separate from flight training.
Is preparation conducted in Mandarin or English?
Program instruction and guidance is conducted in Mandarin and English, depending on the module and your needs. Aviation English coaching is conducted in English — that is how ICAO proficiency is developed. Aptitude preparation and carrier strategy sessions can be conducted in Mandarin or bilingual depending on your level.
How long does preparation take?
Preparation duration depends on your baseline assessment results and which carriers you are targeting. Candidates with strong existing English and aptitude foundations need less time than those starting from scratch. Your initial assessment establishes a realistic preparation timeline. We will discuss this during the enquiry stage.
What happens if a carrier does not accept me after preparation?
Selection is competitive, and no preparation service can guarantee selection outcomes. What V1 Cadet does is give you the best possible foundation across the three disciplines every carrier assesses. If a first attempt is unsuccessful, we review the assessment feedback with you and help you understand what to address before the next selection cycle.
